Step Into Celebration and Escape Reality

Grand Bohemian Charleston - local area

When the Disney brand puts its name behind a project, you know it’s going to be good. So, when it set off to make history by building the community of Celebration in the mid-1990s, every last detail was considered, from the strolling sidewalks and quaint common areas, to the old-fashioned storefronts and manhole covers boasting the town’s crest. One step into Celebration is all it takes for the warmth and close-knit feel of small-town America to grab ahold of you. It’s so perfect, you might expect a milkman to turn the corner at any second.

In a town that evokes all the best memories of yesteryear, it’s no surprise that Celebration’s residents are some of the friendliest around. Welcoming visitors is one of the town’s hallmarks. As a testament to that, there’s even a hotel built right into their neighborhood. Tucked on a side street adjacent to the stunning lakeside promenade, the Bohemian Hotel Celebration sits elegantly among the town’s storefronts, beckoning visitors to come and stay for the night.

Celebration sits off highway 192 and just east of I-4, meaning some of the best attractions and theme parks in the world are basically in its backyard. So, if you’re looking to escape reality, consider spending a few days exploring the world-famous parks at Walt Disney World or Universal Orlando. If that sounds like too much excitement, there’s plenty to do in town, too. Celebration was designed to be explored—indulge in a stroll around the lakeside promenade, browse your way through the town’s numerous shops, play a round of championship golf at the Celebration Golf Club, or rent a bicycle and take a lazy ride through town. There’s no wrong way to play.

When it’s time to refuel, Celebration offers plentiful options all within walking distance. The family-owned Celebration Town Tavern serves up fresh seafood flown in from Massachusetts weekly, including whole-belly clams and Maine Lobster. Head to the outdoor patio and grab a seat and a drink (the bar offers more than 50 varieties of craft beer) and indulge in some people-watching. Later, top off your night with a glass from the award-winning wine list at Imperium Food and Wine, or choose a draught from their selection of seasonally updated craft beers.
