Richard C. Kessler Announces Kessler Canyon, New Western Wildlife Retreat

Orlando, FL / Debeque, CO (May 7, 2007) - Orlando-based hotel and real estate developer Richard C. Kessler, chairman and CEO of The Kessler Enterprise, Inc., today announced plans to open his private ranch, Kessler Canyon, to the public this fall. Kessler, who also owns the AAA Four-Diamond Beaver Creek Lodge in Beaver Creek, CO; is known for building and operating luxury, boutique properties and resorts in Florida, Georgia, Colorado and New Mexico.
Kessler Canyon is a first-class Western Colorado wildlife retreat encompassing 23,000 pristine acres of total solitude. An outdoor sportsman’s paradise and ideal location for an upscale executive retreat, Kessler Canyon offers a large variety of year-round recreational activities and packages, including corporate retreats, wing shooting, big game hunting, fishing, shooting sports and specialty programming.

Current accommodations provide for groups up to 12 in cozy mountain-top cabins nestled among the aspens to chic mountain elegance at the Orchard Lake Guesthouse. A 16,000 square-foot Lodge, the Orchard Lake Homestead, will be completed in mid-2008 to accommodate groups of up to 30, complete with meeting and spa facilities as well as a Kessler wine room. Each guest will experience signature Kessler luxury comforts, service, and cuisine.
After an inspiring day in the wilderness, guests can experience treatments and massages in the spa, a popular, signature Kessler entity. The spa will provide manicure and pedicure stations, four treatment rooms, a sauna and a steam room.
Staying true to his passion of art and music, some of Kessler's collection of dynamic artwork is displayed throughout the property. Three beautiful hand-crafted copper horse sculptures from Davis Murphy, a copper/bronze sculptor from Tampa, were commissioned by Kessler specifically for Kessler Canyon. Kessler has commissioned five additional, 15-foot copper horses which Mr. Murphy will be installing at the ranch in May. There is also a wide selection of Western and antique furniture, Indian rugs, Indian and wildlife artwork and sculptures, including an Indian Crow Shaman bronze monument by Scott Rogers.
Featured artists at the Ranch include Herman Adams and Stefano Cecchini; as well as wildlife sculptors Lorenzo Ghiglieri, Chris Schiller and Gary Cooley.
Kessler also commissioned local furniture maker and artisan, Hollis Whitlock of Rustic Elegance in Grand Junction, CO to custom-build most of the interior furnishings. Mr. Whitlock uses juniper, redwood, and elk hides to craft these unique works of art that adorn the cabins, guest house and Homestead.
Within a two-hour drive, you can also enjoy the Colorado National Monument, Colorado River rafting, golfing, mountain biking in world-renowned Fruita, CO, the Glenwood Hot Springs, and the world famous ski resorts of Aspen, Vail and Beaver Creek. Kessler Canyon is only 45 minutes from Grand Junction Airport and 1.5 hours from Eagle/Vail Airport.
